Founded in the 19th century as a metal workshop. The Carl Auböck workshop now still operates from its original home, in a Vienna townhouse. As a teenager, the man behind the label worked as an engraver in the family business and also spent time studying art at the Bauhaus, before inheriting the workshop from his father and becoming a pioneer of Austrian modernism. The workshop passed from father to son, infusing it with the new ideas that are the beginning of a typical Auböck design. Now, infused with new ideas, the brand produces modern household objects such as paperweights, bookmarks and candleholders, all exquisitely handmade and crafted in sleek bronze and polished brass.
